* What incentives have you got for your contributions?
- To be candid, no increment or incentive from anybody. But I am happy my works
are published and would be used by many readers/researchers. All the Graduates of Asmara Commercial College have the draft copies of some of my books. I am also happy that my Eritrean history book is used as a reference book in the secondary schools (in their grade – XI history). So, obviously this is my incentive. But I believe God will help me one day.

Dr. Ravinder Rena has been working in Eritrea since 1997. Currently he is been working as Asst. Professor of Economics at Eritrea Institute of Technology- Mai Nefhi. He has 15 years of experience in teaching and research. He was educated in Hyderabad, and earned six degrees in various fields particularly in Economics and wrote 8 books. He did his MA in Economics with specialization in International Trade. His Ph.D. was in the area of Economics of Education where he analyzed the Costs and Finances of Indian Higher Education with a particular focus on Private Sector Education for which he was awarded the University Gold Medal. He has recently published two books in the UK on 1] A Handbook on the Eritrean Economy: Problems and Prospects for Development; 2] Financial Institutions in Eritrea. An interview was conducted with him regarding his research publications and experiences in Eritrea over a decade. Excerpts follow:

“There is nothing more humbling than seeing our flag among the world’s flags” Athlete Zerisenay Tadesse - Part II

Eritrea has shown a great progress in athletics in a short period of time. For the first time ever in its history, it has become one of the 71 countries to gain a Bronze Medal in Athens, in the 2004 Olympic games. All our committed athletes in general and Zerisenay Taddesse made this real in particular.
Athlete Zerisenay Tadesse 24, is from Southern Region athletics club. He has joined to the field of athletics suddenly. For his reputation in athletics he is now not only a local hero, but also an international figure as well. Zerisenay is known for his talent in long distance running and recently he ranks 11th as the world’s best runner by the International Athletics Association Federation (IAAF).
We have conducted an interview regarding his local and international experience in the field. Excerpts of the second part and final follow:
What psychological preparation do you make ahead of your international competitions?
I always remind my self that I am representing my country and my people, who eagerly hope for my success. For this reason I exert all my energy to win the contest.
I also work hard to build a remarkable reputation for myself as an athlete.
